This procedure is similar to the customer import (see Start customer import). Finish the field mapping, check the import preview and then start the import.
Example of an import file:
Please note the following points for the import of tasks:
- Customer reference: Tasks that affect existing customers must be assigned to the relevant customer during import. This is the only way to ensure that the tasks are assigned to the correct customer. The assignment of a task to a customer works via the Portatour ID or the external ID of the customer, i.e. the Customer - External ID field on the customer reference page in the import wizard (see Key fields (IDs)).
- Date: If the date is empty, the task is created without date. There is therefore no specific desired day of completion. This can be interpreted as "to be completed at the next call", for example.
- Completion optional: If the cell in the import file is empty or no mapping is used for the field, FALSE is assumed, i.e. a completion is required.
- Recurring tasks: Tasks cannot be imported as recurring tasks. Instead, import the individuals tasks of the series.
Notes on the import of tasks:
- Use the export of tasks to obtain a template file for the import.
- During the import, click on the blue (i) icon next to the field names to get explanations and hints for the import of each field.
- Before each import, an automatic restore point is created. If an import does not lead to the desired result, go to Options > Restore. There, you can reset your data to the status before the import, i.e. all data entries after that point will be discarded.
