Adjust existing Page- and Search Layouts – portatour® Help Center

A necessary part of the initial configuration is the adaptation of Page Layouts for Events, Customer Objects (Accounts, Contacts, Leads) and Users. There are sections where customer call settings as well as custom buttons need to be added and in spite of their absence portatour® may not function to the full extend. Search Layouts for Accounts, Contacts, Leads and Activities are extended just the same way.

For Page Layouts it is important to highlight that Salesforce offers the possibility to use multiple page layouts for different user profiles.

In the simplest case, you have used one Page Layout and one User Profile of all portatour® users. Adjust this Page Layout.
Alternatively, you have already created different Page Layouts for different User Profiles (such as profiles&layouts for office staff, field sales force and sales managers). In turn, adjust the Page Layouts that are visible to all portatour® users.

Hint: The choice of Page Layouts visible to a user depends on the User Profile. All Page Layouts of user profiles that can use portatour® must be adapted accordingly. In case a new user is activated for portatour® (see section All activated portatour® Users), the user will be only given access rights to portatour®, without changing the user profile. So, if the right Page Layouts have not been adjusted, it may happen that users are activated for portatour®, yet the portatour® functions are not visible in the Page Layout. Hint: It is easier with Search Layouts – there is only one for all users of your organization, User Profiles being ignored. Adjustments to the Search Layouts are visible to all users.

Hint: In case your organization uses individual Visualforce Pages instead of Page Layouts for the display of Accounts/Contacts/Leads/Events, you may use the content of the description in the customer call settings section by integrating Visualforce components into your Visualforce pages (see section Visualforce Components)
