Determine the time of the day when the appointment shall start and its duration. Changing this information has a direct impact on the Salesforce event.
In the Schedule drop-down list in the Schedule Time section, you have four possibilities to tell portatour® how the event should be scheduled on the day of the event. The more leeway portatour® has, the more the route can be optimized.
With this default option, the event will be scheduled precisely at the time of the Salesforce event.
By selecting this option, you provide portatour® with a leeway for scheduling the event. You can set the leeway in minutes. If you want to set a leeway for all newly created events by default, you can change this in the portatour® user settings in the section Business Rules – see section Appointment leeway.
Any Time on Event day
This is an extension of the time frame to the degree that the event can take place at any time of the day. The duration is explicitly set. If the event has been assigned to a customer, and the customer has limited business hours on this day, the business hours will be taken into account.
Example: You need to visit 8 customers on a specific day, where the order is arbitrary and you want the shortest route (e.g. delivery). Create an event for every customer of this very day and select Any Time on Event Day. portatour® arranges the events in an optimized way.
Events that are not highlighted as all day events in the Salesforce calendar, or exceed 24 hours in duration, are marked as All-/Multiday. The entry of a leeway is not possible in this case.
Hint: By creating an all-day appointment, no other calls will be scheduled on the given day and time period. You can use this to mark holidays or all-day events with no field activities.
