portatour® plans routes to your customers. To do this, Accounts, Contacts and Leads can be treated as customers. For simplification purposes, in this manual the word Customer will be used to describe Accounts, Contacts or Leads who are to be visited.
In order to include customers in sales-route scheduling, it is important to 'activate' them for portatour® beforehand. Customer activation includes:
- Setting the 'geo-location' of the call address. The address is checked and geo-coded on the map.
- Individual customer call settings are initialized for scheduling of calls: call interval, business hours, vacation, etc.
It is only after customer activation that customers are available in sales-route scheduling and portatour® Anywhere.
Hint: Bear in mind that portatour® supports a maximum of 1,000 activated customers per user for scheduling. Therefore, activate only the customers that you are going to visit. The total number of active contacts can be found in the portatour® report, see section portatour® Report.
Hint: Depending on the requirements of your sales force, your administrator has already set up an organization-wide setting, determining whether Accounts, Contacts or Leads are visited as customers.
Hint: Ask whether your administrator already has activated your customers. You can find your activated customers in the portatour® customer list tab or via the customer list entry in the portatour® menu, see section Customer list.
