The optimization settings allow different optimization goals to be set per territory or generally for the entire team. Please note that optimization settings restrict portatour®'s optimization scope. Therefore, use them only where really necessary.
Per territory
In the first two columns of the table, you can see the current customer count and workload of the individual territories according to the initial situation or the interim result, if available.
The following optimization goals are possible:
- Hand off customers and Take over customers: Limit the number of customers to be handed off and taken over in order to reduce the effort involved in customer handovers; see How do I specify how many customers should be handed off or taken over?.
- Customers Count: Limit the target customer count per territory; see Specify the desired customer count per territory.
- Workload: Specify different workload targets, e.g. to deliberately plan free capacity in some territories for new customers to be added later; see Adjust maximum workload per territory.
- Territory near home location: Select this checkbox to avoid a long journey to the territory.
- Custom key figures: Depending on whether and which key figures you have added under Initial situation > Key figures (see Use custom key figures for territory optimization), specify here how the key figures should be used in territory optimization; see Use custom key figures for territory optimization.
Click the pencil icon in the header row to edit all territories, or click the pencil icon in the desired row to edit only one territory.
General
Specify settings here for all territories.
- Grouping: Specify whether and by which criterion customers should be grouped, e.g. by postal code; see How do I take into account a grouping of customers?.
- Qualifications: If you have activated qualifications in the organization-wide options (see Specify qualifications for territory assignment), they are considered by default for territory optimization; see Specify qualifications for territory assignment. If you do not want this, click the pencil icon here and select Ignore.
portatour® takes your specifications into account in the best possible way during the territory optimization. If there are territories where compliance is not possible in an efficient way, the details of the optimization result will indicate this. In the table, the affected users are highlighted in red.
