When handling a large territory, overnight stays on the way can save time and money instead of driving back home at the end of every day.
In Organization Settings > User Settings > Overnight Stay on the Way, you specify which days of the week can be used by default for scheduling an overnight stay. In addition, you specify the Minimal distance of the overnight stay from home. As such, portatour® only plans an overnight stay on the way if the drive back home at the end of the day is further away than the specified distance in miles/kilometers or would take longer than the specified duration in minutes.
If there are preferred overnight locations within a sales territory – e.g. favorite hotels or hotels with special offers – then also specify under Accommodation the maximum driving time to one of these preferred places. The field reps manage their preferred places directly in portatour® Anywhere (see Preferred accommodation). After the last customer call of the day, if portatour® cannot find a preferred accommodation within the specified travel time, then the daily schedule ends at the last customer. In this case, the user decides in which nearby hotel to stay.
