To import only the geocoordinates instead of the address, first make sure that the Excel file with the customer data contains one column for the longitude and another one for the latitude.
Then proceed as follows:
- Start the import wizard e.g. via Options > Import data > Customers (see Start customer import).
- Select the desired import mode (see Choose import mode) and upload your import file (see Upload file). Select worksheet and filtering (see Select worksheet and Filtering).
- Under Address fields:
- For the target field Street, select any column from your import file. This can be the actual street or, for example, the customer number. It is essential that you enter any assignment here (see Field mapping).
- The address fields ZIP and City can remain empty.
- Assign the Country. If you do not have a corresponding column in your import file, select the country in the selection menu.
- In the next step, you may receive the following warning message: "You have mapped 'Street' but not 'ZIP' or 'City'. If you continue, the exact positions of your addresses on the map will only be found if 'Street' contains the complete address." Ignore this by clicking on Next.
- In the step Scheduling fields, assign the columns with the coordinates to the fields Latitude and Longitude (see Scheduling fields).
- Carry out further field mapping if required.
- Click on Next to carry out the customer import on the last page by clicking on Import (see Preview and import).
Note: As soon as the coordinates are entered during import, portatour® only uses these for route planning - not the address.
